Currently, there are more than 356,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests here in the USA every year. It's even more alarming to learn that an estimated 10,200 of these cardiac arrest victims are children.
Reducing the Statistics
Each State's law is different with regards to having an AED on a school campus, however, with so many children suffering sudden cardiac arrests every year, we strongly believe that all states should adopt the law of making AEDs a compulsory piece of equipment for schools.

The only definitive treatment for a sudden cardiac arrest victim is effective CPR and a potentially life-saving shock from an AED, which can increase the patient's survival chance from 6% to 74% if treatment is administered within 3 - 5 minutes of the patient collapsing.
