Electrode pads are one of the core components which helps turn your AED into a life-saving machine. By always having a set of working electrodes your AED, you can be confident that you’re able to transfer a defibrillation shock to a victim of cardiac arrest to help save a life.
All of our pads are designed exclusively to match with your chosen defibrillator to ensure the most effective care can be given to the patient.
Shelf Life of Pads
Don’t forget, electrode pads are one use only and must be replaced after use, this is why we always advise you keep a spare pair with your AED, just in case your first pair should become compromised so you are always prepared to save a life.
The shelf life of electrode pads can differ depending on which manufacturer you’re buying from, so it might be more cost-effective for you to purchase additional pairs to be kept with your defibrillator so they’re ready to go in an emergency event.
All of our manufacturers provide a range of paediatric electrode pads for you to purchase, to give you the ability to provide a rescue to a victim of any age. Sadly, no one is immune from cardiac arrest which is why it’s vital you are prepared to treat a casualty whether they’re 4 or 40.
Pediatric electrode pads typically reduce the shock level from the usual 150 joules of an adult pad, to 50 joules to safely treat a child.
Pediatric electrode pads are to be used on children from the ages of 1-8 years old, after this age, adult electrodes are safe to be used. We do not advise you use a AED on a child under the age of 1.
